A Brief Overview
Reporting to the President of Hunt Communities, the VP Special Projects and Business Development will work closely with the development team, outside experts, municipal governments, and other entities to advance discrete projects and obligations which are essential to the overall success of the land development and master planned community development arm of the Hunt Companies in El Paso, Austin, and surrounding communities. The Vice President will oversee certain aspects of special financing and multi-party infrastructure and development obligations, coordinate with municipal and county governments on special projects related to road and infrastructure construction and financing, and direct and manage progress of outside engineering, tax, finance, and legal consultants to protect the company's interest in a variety of multi-party interactions. Additionally, the Vice President will drive business development initiatives, foster partnerships, and build relationships with government officials, industry partners, and internal and affiliate team members. The Vice President will be integral in attending conferences, maintaining positive relationships in the community, and aggressively advocating for policies which promote positive outcomes for master planned community development.

What You Will Do
- Establishes and maintains relationships with government officials (elected and staff), business organizations, policy advocacy groups, non-profit organizations, and other key stakeholders.
- Attends critical government and policy public meetings and conferences to maintain strong connections with stakeholders while advocating for critical community outcomes.
- Advances discrete policy and project activities on behalf of Hunt Communities and manages project milestones including public meetings, consultant management, and approval processes.
- Works closely with internal development and construction teams to advance projects that compliment and support traditional development and construction activities, but which fall outside the normal day-to-day activities of the development team.
- Develops and maintains internal public project tracker spreadsheet of key initiatives and status, milestones, and timelines.
- Collaborates with Hunt Communities team (as necessary) on special project goals and critical initiatives.
- Cultivates relationships with key stakeholders and agencies responsible for development regulation, permits, and approvals.
- Coordinates with planning organizations, mobility authorities, and economic development organizations (public and private) to secure funding, access resources, and advance critical Hunt Communities and local/regional policy objectives.
- Prepares quarterly regional economic activity reports highlighting public and private investment and expansion/contraction activities which impact the regional economy and the real estate industry.
- Maintains relationships with industry competitors and high-level awareness of market activity and changes impacting land development in our marketplace.
- Researches innovative land development solutions including new technologies, decentralized utility systems, and cutting edge opportunities and advance relationships that advance our business in a rapidly changing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree Operations Management, Finance, Business, Management or related. Preferred
- 10+ years 10+ years
- 10+ years operations/supervisory and leadership experience; Proven experience in leading effective teams and individuals, managing organizational change and initiating key innovations
