Cromwell Architects Engineers is seeking an IT Systems Admin for our Little Rock location. Candidates should have good communication skills, be well organized, and have the ability to work in a flexible environment. What To Expect

The IT Systems Administrator will be a hands-on technologist who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable managing a wide range of IT infrastructure tasks. They will support and scale our systems, networks, and compliance initiatives across a multi-state growing architecture and engineering firm.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Windows-based workstations, laptops, and servers.
  • Build and manage Hyper-V virtual environments and virtual machines.
  • Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot network switches and connectivity.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance.
  • Create and maintain detailed network and infrastructure diagrams.
  • Install and update software across endpoints and servers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external support services for hardware, software, and licensing.
  • Provide Tier 1/2/3 support and collaborate with other IT staff to ensure continuity and coverage.
  • Participate in IT planning, documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, Teams Phone, and Outlook.
  • Configure and maintain Azure-based storage solutions, Azure Files and Azure serverless file systems.
  • Support and maintain Windows Distributed File System (DFS) and on-prem archival storage systems.
  • Integrate and manage Active Directory with Microsoft Entra for identity and access management.
  • Travel: 10 %

Competencies

stay within scope, schedule, cost and quality specifications.

  • Fluency with markup and programming languages including PowerShell Scripting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, VLANs, and switch configuration.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Teams and Exchange Online.
  • Working knowledge of Azure storage services and serverless file systems.
  • Experience with Windows DFS and on-prem archival storage is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Entra integration is highly desired.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST 800-171) is a strong plus.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or Systems Administration.
  • 3+ years' experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration or Network support.
  • Preferred Certifications:
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator
  • Cisco CCNA (optional but beneficial)
