- Requesting the necessary aircraft configuration and loading.
- Writing and signing the Flight Order and the Flight Crew Report also signed by the Captain.
- Calculating weight and balance and take-off data.
- Accepting the aircraft technically, on behalf of the Captain, by checking, filling and signing the Technical Log Book.
- Ensuring technical follow-up of the aircraft.
- Defining the classification of the flight.
- Conduct the flight and operate aircraft systems and Cockpit Collection Tool.
- Filling in the Technical Log Book (reporting malfunctions or anomalies, requesting modifications for the next flight.
- Writing the daily “Dépêche” and the Flight Crew Report (if so required, in cooperation with other crew members), forwarding the FTE log to the data processing team.
- Requesting the necessary data processing for completion of the flight analysis.
- Managing the aircraft during the overall ground and flight activities of production and delivery phases, as well as the proper execution of the related tests.
- Ensuring a technical follow up of the aircraft from hand-over to FTC (FOT for Production aircraft) until the Customer Acceptance (Technical Acceptance Completion - TAC).
- The Flight Test Engineer (FTE) and the Ground Test Engineer (GTE) work together as a team to ensure a smooth and successful delivery process.
- B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical or aircraft construction engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Fight Test Engineer.
- 8 years experience in the aviation industry with preference to Airbus aircraft.
- Experience on A320 family or other Airbus aircraft.
- Qualified from a Flight Test School approved by EASA or equivalent experience that would allow for an EASA Cat 2 validation
- Knowledge of Aircraft configuration management rules.
- Current and continued EASA, TCCA, or FAA Class 2 Medical and be able to perform duties as aircrew on a daily basis.
- Aviation certification or FFS Simulator experience.
- Experience with AIRBUS manuals (Structure Repair Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog etc.)
- Knowledge of AIRBUS internal procedures, processes and tools.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in solving engineering problems.
- Ability to function on the basis of self-motivation and self-direction.
- Willing to travel up to 30% of the time overseas and domestically within the Airbus international network, supplier and customer sites.
- During 1 year, the selected candidate will be assigned to Europe to be trained and to get a Flight Test Engineer License.
- Onsite or remote: Onsite 100%
- Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
- Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
- Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
- Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
- Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
