Note: This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month in our St Petersburg, FL Corporate Office.

Job Summary

As part of a business technology team, the UX Designer will be part of a team creating quality technical solutions to shape the user experience for advisor-facing applications. This individual will be involved in portions of/or the full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and may be responsible for leading design studios/workshops, interviewing end-users for feedback, and interfacing directly with key business and development owners of applications to ensure that their products are delivered on time and within budget. Is able to make judgments and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders, business and development teams to understand the opportunities/design problems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business and development teams to design experiences that fill the user's needs, work within business constraints, and can be delivered within the defined timelines.
  • Support each step of the journey by creating wireframes, user journeys, user tests, and high fidelity prototypes.
  • Collaborate with fellow designers to maintain a consistent look, feel, and seamless experience for the users as they move between different applications.
  • Provide rationale and support for design decisions to team members and executives based on research, available data, and experience.
  • Continue involvement with development teams throughout the product lifecycle, iterating and problem solving as needed.
  • Provide design revisions and feature enhancements for existing applications.
  • Enforce adherence to team design practices, pattern-libraries, style guides, and standards.
  • Design components and assets for reuse across products and design tools.
  • Contribute to and evolve the digital product design processes, tools, practices.

Skills/Previous Experience

  • Three (3) plus years of relevant experience or combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge Of

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of web & mobile design.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry is preferred but not required.

Skill In

  • Proficient in Figma, with experience in other design tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong typography, color, layout, and motion graphic skills.
  • A rich portfolio of examples that demonstrates design expertise.

Ability To

  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
  • Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skills or knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.
  • Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
  • Make internal and external clients and their needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships.
  • Solid information design, layout, and web composition abilities.

Education

Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Digital Communications and Media/Multimedia, High School (HS) (Required)
