What you'll do:
- Collaborate with the Aging in Place Program Director to assess an individual's abilities, challenges and needs in a holistic and purpose driven way, recommending updates that will help them live independently, safely and comfortably
- Coordinate with relevant departments and vendors to develop and implement home modifications based on the applicable safety and functional needs, e.g., electricians, plumbers, paint crew etc.
- Identify, recommend, purchase and oversee installation of furnishings and equipment that can help enhance the aging experience
- Educate community members on proper use of installed medical equipment
- Ensure best practices are followed when conducting home assessments
- Coordinate and monitor stockroom and inventory
- Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
- Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) is highly desirable, but not required
- Plumbing, electrical, painting, light remodeling experience desired, but not required
- Must possess basic inventory control and applicable computer skills
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 100 pounds
- Previous experience as a handy worker or skilled laborer required, with ability to support implementation and installation of equipment and home modifications such as grab bars, bidets etc.
- Knowledge of aging process and correct use of DME highly desired
- Possess public relations and office skills highly desired
- Must possess a valid unencumbered North Carolina Driver's License and insured vehicle (eligible for mileage reimbursement)
- Understanding of aging processes, Durable Medical Equipment and their functions
