Senior Accountant

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of financial reporting/supporting business decision-making at the highest level. You’ll play a key role in month-end close, audit preparation, and continuous process improvement, with direct exposure to Private Equity reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal reporting packages.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account complex reconciliations, and preparation for audit schedules.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Collaborate with AP/AR to manage cash flow and ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis on budget development, variance analysis, and forecasting.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local tax filings; monitor changes in tax regulations.
• Assist in managing Private Equity reporting requirements, including consolidation reporting, investor queries, and financial due diligence.
• Work directly with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Implement and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Identify and drive opportunities for automation and process optimization within the accounting function.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  
  

Requirements

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience (corporate or public accounting)
• Experience in Private Equity or working with PE-backed organizations
• Experience in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and fluency in GAAP (IFRS a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas)
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
• Ability to communicate complex financial data to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing)
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or PE-backed environment
• Familiarity with financial modeling and reporting dashboards
  
  

Physical Requirements

This position typically operates in an office environment with standard office hours. Flexibility in hours may be required during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end closings, as well as during audit cycles.

Salary Description

$90,000 - $100,500
