This is a temporary position for the first semester. Pay will be based on current teacher contract, and prorated to the number of days the person will be teaching.

- Instruct students in subject matter, utilizing various teaching methods, such as lecture and demonstration, and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
- Plan individual and group activities to use techniques such as role-playing, dialogue, language games, literature, film, and other formal exercises.
- Prepare teaching outline for course of study, assign lessons, and correct homework assignments.
- Administer tests to evaluate student’s progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.
- Maintain discipline in classroom and in other school activities.
- Plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other materials, considering factors, such as individual needs, abilities, learning levels, and physical limitations of students.
- Discuss student’s academic and behavior problems with parents and suggest remedial action.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Keep attendance and grade records.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Appropriate certification as required by the Indiana Department of Education.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent teaching skills, interpersonal relations skills, time management and organizational skills
- Must be compassionate, patient, observant, detail-oriented, creative and think outside the box.
- Coach students individually or as a group; communicate with parents and other teachers about a student’s progress
- Other qualifications as deemed desirable by the School Board.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee should be able to use the following machines, tools, equipment, and work aids which may be representative, but not all inclusive, of those commonly associated with this type of work: computer, projector, phone, copy machine and any other office equipment .
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- There are no environmental hazards indicated for this position.
