Job Summary

The President of Raymond James Investment Management is responsible for leading the business’s strategic direction, driving organic and inorganic growth, ensuring operational excellence, and achieving financial success. This role oversees investment management strategies, business development, client relationships, and distribution efforts to expand market reach and drive growth. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, the President fosters a culture of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and performance while strengthening distribution channels for asset and wealth management solutions.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement corporate strategy to drive growth, optimize investment performance, and expand distribution networks.
  • Lead investment strategy, portfolio management oversight, and risk governance to ensure strong client outcomes and financial success.
  • Lead sales and distribution strategy, identifying new channels and opportunities for investment product placement with financial advisors, institutions, and wealth platforms.
  • Drive business development by cultivating relationships with institutional investors, wealth management professionals, and distribution partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and fiduciary alignment with industry standards, including SEC, FINRA, and other governing bodies.
  • Lead marketing and branding strategy efforts to strengthen market positioning, product visibility, and industry credibility.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and operational efficiency to enhance profitability.
  • Represent the firm externally, engaging in industry conferences, investor meetings, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team, fostering a results-driven, client-centric, collaborative, and distribution-oriented organizational culture.
  • Communicate with the board of directors and Raymond James executive leadership regarding strategic plans and initiatives, performance metrics, corporate governance, and succession planning and associate development.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Retail and institutional investment products and landscape
  • Wealth management distribution models, including third-party sales, intermediary partnerships, and direct-to-client channels.
  • Sales and marketing strategies for investment product distribution across various platforms.
  • Regulatory landscape governing the asset management business, including compliance and fiduciary requirements.
  • Business strategy, corporate finance, and organizational leadership.

  • Strategic planning, execution, and market expansion within investment management and wealth advisory sectors.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • MBA, CFA, or relevant professional designation preferred.
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in investment management, asset management, or wealth advisory services, with a focus on distribution strategy.
  • Proven track record of driving profitable business growth, leading asset management strategies, and developing successful teams.
