Job Summary

DDC4C is seeking a Forestry Technician to join their growing team to support our Forestry and Natural Resource Management work. The Forestry Technician will perform brush clearing, prescribed burning, mastication, pre-commercial thinning, and herbicide applications to improve and enhance forestry habitat.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

The Forestry Technician will perform brush clearing, prescribed burning, mastication, pre-commercial thinning, and herbicide application to improve and enhance forestry habitat.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)

  • Background check for base access will be required for role.
  • Must obtain prescribed burning certificates and NC herbicide license within three months of being hired.
  • Candidate must have a valid state driver’s license
  • Equipment operations may be required with safety training. All training will be provided at company expense.
  • This position may required travel out of state up to 25% per month.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Regularly lift 5 pounds and correctly lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Physically able to conduct forestry field work utilizing hand tools, rakes, backpack sprayers, brush saws, and chainsaws for 8hrs work day.
    • Strenuous and requires a high-energy person, walking over rough terrain, and traveling to/from remote forest jobsites
