POSITION TITLE: Safety Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Fleet
REPORTS TO: Safety Manager
FLSA STATUS: Full time, Non-Exempt, Hybrid role
Position Summary:
Sonic's Safety Coordinator will help develop safety policies and procedures, organize team meetings, solve safety issues, coordinate audits, and inspections, track corrective actions and incident data, review important safety documents, and many other duties that require a high degree of attention to detail. A valid CA Driver's License and clean DMV record is required for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tracking training - reoccurring trainings
- Track CPR – Certs – schedule refresher trainings
- General Certificate inputs (OSHA 10; etc.)
- Aid in developing safety policies.
- Audit current safety policies.
- Audit injury reports.
- Develop Safety Committee Meeting materials.
- Facilitating on-boarding classes will be required.
- Assigning all training classes and tracking completion.
- Injury follow up and ensuring Corrective Actions have been submitted
- Administrative duties as required
- Demonstrated administrative skills.
- Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Some exposure to safety principles and OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards is a plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
