Job Summary: The Data Technician will assist with the day to day duties of the data needs for Early Childhood and Expanded Learning. The Data Technician will assist with quality data management, reporting, and analysis of programs such as Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Head Start, SKIP, 21st Century Community Learning Centers and others as needed. The Technician will work in collaboration with the Early Childhood Developmental Screener and data Specialist, Technology and Media Services and Synergy Student Information Systems, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be utilized on a daily basis.
Essential Duties (May Include, But Not Limited To)
Education:
High school diploma required, associate’s degree preferred. College level course work in information technology or related courses desired.
Experience
Minimum of two years’ experience is data entry preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data systems, interpretation of data, and data training preferred. Experience in the provision of data management, preferably working with State Reporting activities. Experience pertaining to data reporting and student assessment and data applications preferred.
Skills/Other
Knowledge of organizations providing services to children in Genesee County preferred. Demonstration of computer and data management skills required. Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license. Must have reliable telephone in order to maintain contact with the office, as well as reliable transportation to travel to and from the intermediate school district to various sites in the community. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skills sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Demonstrated strong organizational skills. Ability to accept supervision and direction. Ability to work independently, or as the member of a team. Ability to work creatively and skillfully with school district staff, agencies and parents. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work a flexible work day, work week, and work year. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Represents the district in a professional manner at all times. Works successfully as a member of the team. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position. Discretion with confidential information. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a calm, poised and professional image at all times. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and administrative guidelines.

Essential Duties (May Include, But Not Limited To)
- Provides effective support to adults with a broad range of computer skills and knowledge.
- Assists with the gathering and interpretation of combined, county-wide ASQ screenings.
- Assists with the gathering and interpretation of county-wide early childhood and expanded learning data.
- Provides training and technical support to partner sites on and off-site locations (GSRP, Head Start, SKIP, 21st Century, etc.).
- Notifies the Data Manager of discrepancies in data or system problems.
- Works effectively as a team member and provides assistance to other staff and partners as needed.
- Enters and maintains data for ChildPlus and Synergy.
- Provides instruction and support to staff for data input for ChildPlus, ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE.
- Prepares and enters program files for reports and documents as required.
- Develops and maintains databases as needed to support the work of early childhood and expanded learning.
- Assists in project coordination, including planning, deliverables, outcomes, and meeting facilitation.
- Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
