Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day purchasing duties for top spend suppliers.
- Purchase and manager long lead items including raw material.
- Manage material in various states of release in an R & D environment.
- Drive cost saving efforts for the suppliers/commodity you manage.
- Supplier Management and schedule adherence.
- Support supplier scorecard program and QBR.
- Drive Supply Chain initiatives.
- Follow Corporate Procurement Practices and Procedures when making decisions concerning negotiating, sourcing, and contracting for all goods and services purchased.
- Compare quotes and align with departmental processes with the intent of achieving the best cost possible for Firefly.
- Review requisitions prior to PO to ensure that they are entered into the system correctly.
- Execute and manage supplier purchase orders to achieve the production build plans and service levels
- Manage purchasing requirements for product changes and new product introductions
- Proficiency to analyze quotes to determine the overall best offer for a product/service; including supplier past performance, capability, capacity, and financial stability.
- Ensure clear communication of expectations and priorities with suppliers
- Ensure suppliers adhere to Firefly Quality and compliance standards including supplier selection and part documentation.
- Maintain supplier and part attributes in the ERP system.
- Manage supplier returns and resolve inbound quality issues in a timely manner with internal stakeholders and the supplier
- Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure inventory accuracy and supplier payment within agreed terms
- Manage purchased parts inventory, including disposition of slow moving, rev control/compliance, or obsolescence.
- Resolve supplier non-conforming issues.
- Support the creation and implementation of “best practices”.
- Review business aspects of requisition and provide advice as subject matter expert.
- Support the creation and release of new parts in the system.
- Support Firefly (QMS) Quality Management System objectives and standards.
- Assist requisitioners in selecting suppliers that align and comply with Firefly ASL/AVL. (Approved Supplier/Vendor list)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 + yrs. Plus experience buying at a Senior level
- 5-7 + yrs. Experience buying machined parts, raw materials
- MS Office (including Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Software operation and data entry skills
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and prioritization of internal issues
- Proven experience working cross functionally and shown ability to influence and communicate across all levels
- Strong ability to handle and effectively prioritize multiple competing priorities and requests
- Possess a valid “Real ID” driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass Air Force background checks
- Physical stamina to perform regular duties, including
- Lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds
- Stand for long periods of time
- Crouch, bend, and reach
- Odoo ERP/MRP knowledge
- ITAR experience
- Aerospace Industry as an OEM, Supplier, Contractor, Sub-contractor
- Experience in an Engineering development, Proto-typing and test environment a plus
- Experience in AS9100 environment a plus
