Your role as a Coordinator, Event Security & Operations:

You will be primarily responsible for managing credentials and parking requests, maintaining, and updating security policies and enhancing operations within the Security and Transportation Department.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Catalogs security and medical incidents from 24/7 Software and ensures information is stored for analytical and historical use
  • Ensures security policies and procedures are maintained and updated as needed in collaboration with the Director, Security & Transportation
  • Assists in maintaining inventories and coordinating preventative maintenance on all Security Department equipment, such as metal detection equipment (CEIA OpenGate), MLB Credential scanners, tables, and uniforms
  • Executes support for all credentialing needs for internal staff and partner staff during dark days and event days to include producing credentials, assigning proper access levels, and ensuring that all team members receive their proper credentials and are educated on all credential procedures for Petco Park
  • Collaborates with internal departments and partners to obtain all credential requests to produce the proper credential and upload headshots into ABI Software
  • Assists with planning and maintaining communication with the San Diego Sports & Entertainment Security Roundtable
  • Coordinates with Interagency Partners (SDPD, SDFD, SD-LECC, DHS, FBI, NCTC, etc.) to develop event security plans
  • Maintains the Padres Mass Communication System, Titan HST, ensuring proper user roles, troubleshoot issues, and conduct training
  • Assists in onboarding new employees to include headshots, distributing parking pass and credentials
  • Responsible for all staff parking permitting and logistics during dark days and event days at Petco Park
  • Conducts audits and tracks staff parking data for dark day and event day parking within spACE and Microsoft Excel
  • Assists in developing department briefing sheets and ensuring game and event day information is prepared for each event
  • Assists in the planning and execution of all Petco Park Events
  • Research, develop, and implement policies and procedures around staff and event safety requirements that are in alignment with our company values
  • Able to professionally brief security plans of action during senior-level executive meetings, organizational-wide events, community engagements and during interagency meetings
  • Representing the Club in a positive and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned


Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:

  • Have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with general knowledge and use of office equipment. Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new programs, systems, and/or processes
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and social skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with proven ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar
  • Possess a high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability, while maintaining professional image and demeanor
  • Proven ability to multi-task, maintain attention to detail and manage projects on strict deadlines
  • Strong ability and willingness to work with others in a collaborative, team environment


You will be required to meet the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, sports management, or hospitality is strongly preferred
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, Padres home games, special events, holidays, and extended hours as needed
  • Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to ascend and descend stairs; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds; able to ride a bicycle for prolonged periods of time.
  • As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check


Pay and additional compensation:

Per the California pay transparency law, the base hourly rate for this full-time position is $21.06. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
