The targeted hiring range for this role is $73,080 - $89,320, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Collaborates with product team to test and deploy application modifications of mixed impact and risk based on collaboratively defined requirements.
- Participates in work refinement and estimation processes with product team.
- Prepares and executes manual testing on all new and modified code per team / product / organization standards.
- Works with product and change control teams to ensure quality deliverables that provide customer value.
- Creates and maintains documentation that the product team or company has defined as important (e.g., support processes, team processes, system documentation, decisions / discussions).
- Ensures timely delivery of projects and tasks, communicating delays and roadblocks with team and leadership, as needed.
- Flexes to non-core responsibilities as needed to ensure timely work delivery to the customer (e.g., analysis, production support, deployment, meeting facilitation).
- Creates, designs, executes, and supports the maintenance of manual tests in all stages of application testing.
- Understands and identifies inclusion of testability during design and development phases.
- Identifies test cases as candidates for automation.
- Solicits and performs test review per team / product / organization standards.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and shares during process improvement conversations at product team level.
- Identifies defect-prone areas in product and designs and provides test coverage.
- Actively participates in test defect resolution process; provides defect descriptions, documentation, and recommendations for resolution.
- Participates in troubleshooting, resolution, and communication of urgent production issues.
- Identifies opportunities to improve application and business process efficiency / effectiveness.
- Understands product team level development best practices, standards, policies, and possible implications on work activities.
- Utilizes intermediate-level knowledge, experience, and available resources to find a wide range of solutions.
- Understands relationships between problem components.
- Contributes to resolving problems and / or process improvement at the product team level.
- Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards, including responding quickly, maintaining a positive attitude, building rapport, demonstrating empathy, managing the customer’s expectations, using the proper communication channel for the situation, and taking ownership to ensure the customer’s issue is resolved.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

- Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Basic understanding of test metrics and the tools to measure them with ability to provide test execution metrics.
- Ability to present information to product team.
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
- Knowledge in required computer languages and code versioning software.
- Ability to read automated test results without support.
- Ability to read Jenkins job results.
- Knowledge in multiple tools and frameworks.
- Relevant education / training (e.g., bachelor’s degree, associate degree, bootcamp certificate); experience in lieu of education acceptable.
- Demonstrated intermediate organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to accomplish multiple priorities of low to average impact and risk within specified timeframe.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all product team members.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge and application of relevant Agile testing methodologies at product team level.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical audiences and with organizational peers in any role.
- Property-and-casualty insurance industry experience / education.
