Job Summary

Conducts audit and analytical work and other related assigned projects. Provides a data analytics focus to help internal audit team provide comprehensive audits. Organizes, conducts and evaluates field work, as requested. Establishes and enhances relationships with Shared Service and Ministry personnel.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Three years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Two years of relevant audit or operational experience: Preferred
  • Professional certification i.e., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), etc.: Preferred

Essential Functions

  • Plans, organizes and controls work so assignments are completed in a reasonable time and in a form suitable for review. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of techniques, processes and procedures to perform the job. Works on problems of moderate to diverse scope requiring some interpretation of policies and guidelines.
  • Performs audit procedures to support the audit plan, including tests of internal control systems, recorded assets and liabilities, and results of operations. Documents work succinctly, accurately, and with easy comprehension for others.
  • Leverages data analytics skills to enhance Internal Audit’s ability to efficiently and comprehensively test large amounts of data. Applies working knowledge of techniques, principles, theories and concepts of the discipline, staff, technologies, service and practices to complete routine and non-routine assignments.
  • Applies theory of accounting and standards of auditing to individual client situations. Prioritizes daily activities to complete tasks/projects assigned by others. Solves and escalates operational problems and technical issues; modifies existing tools or processes.
  • Adapts to varying working conditions and exemplifies tact and resourcefulness. Works with decisions that have moderate impact on function/family operations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
