Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees and optimizes operations process to ensure efficient and effective production of devices. Role objective will be to streamline processes, improve productivity, and maintain a high level of product quality to meet customer demands and industry regulations. Responsible for managing various aspects of the operations, including manufacturing, assembly, part flow, quality control, compliance with regulatory standards, cost management, department spend optimization and safety management.

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Improves the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organization must wins.
  • Achieves operational targets that are needed for overall corporate target achievement.
  • Manages the development and organization of people with expanding capabilities. Recruits, selects, assigns, schedules, coaches, counsels and disciplines direct reports. Leads by example, through your people.
  • Develops and maintains productive employee relationships. Provides direction, training, and development as needed.
  • Ensures that the operation values and behavior connects and aligns with corporate values and brand traits (passionate leaders, courageous, curious, agile and authentic).
  • Manages overall team, budget, expenses, capital expenditures, processes and procedures for operational group.
  • Leads implementation of best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for production activities.
  • Fosters and leads MPS activities to improve cost, quality, lead time, and safety of operational group.
  • Develops strategic muti-year initiatives that furthers and supports the company’s long range plan.
  • Provides direction and support for day to day activities of production area to ensure profitable and cohesive production.
  • Analyzes workflows, yields, staffing requirements, production restraints and quality issues. Identifies problems and develops solutions to continually improve the operation.
  • Provides support for cross function teams in support of product changes and launches.
  • Influences, aligns and leads teammates from multi-functions such as quality, engineering, sustaining, safety, information technology, human resources and finance to foster the exchange of ideas and accelerated execution of objectives.
  • Ensures that regulatory responsibilities, as they pertain to operations, are being fulfilled.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree preferred with 4 to 6 years of management of people experience within a MPS type environment or equivalent experience.

COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high level of business acumen and comfort working in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills with ability to influence
  • Strong analytical capability with demonstrated adeptness at problem-solving and ability to not only view details but also understand big picture implications
  • Process oriented, proactive and customer-focused
  • Flexible, detail oriented, and able to quickly act under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills required


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly manages 5-15 teammates with indirect up to 200 teammates
  • Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory and Midmark policies
  • Interviews, hires, terminates, trains, assigns and directs work
  • Conducts performance evaluations, provides coaching, counseling or discipline as needed
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems and conflicts
