Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Community Engagement, this position will assist in coordinating, organizing, and executing efforts to represent CoServ (Electric and Gas) favorably in the community through outreach and building relationships. This individual will be involved in and help plan programs promoting good will and fostering relationships, while extending and enhancing CoServ’s corporate citizenship efforts and brand through CoServ’s academic initiatives and community outreach. This position will provide task management and workflow oversight of activities as required or assigned.

This individual will be involved in and help plan programs promoting good will and fostering relationships, while extending and enhancing CoServ’s corporate citizenship efforts and brand through CoServ’s academic initiatives and community outreach. This position will provide task management and workflow oversight of activities as required or assigned.
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Collaborates as needed with the development and coordination of Academic Initiatives, including Scholarship Programs; Youth Leadership Tour; Adopt A School; Electric Arcing Demo; Gas Demo; POWERrace! and Career Days. This may include various application systems, application development and processing, and work with internal and external judges.
- Assists in the development, coordination and execution of community outreach programs and events. This may include coordination and implementation of the Snackin’ Wagon, sponsorship events, and other initiatives undertaken by Community Relations. Assume responsibility for one or more of these projects as assigned.
- Supports the development, coordination and execution of internal programs and events. This may include Bring Your Son or Daughter to Workday, other service projects and other initiatives undertaken by Community Engagement. Assume responsibility for one or more of these projects as assigned.
- Proficiently builds and maintains relationships with those outside of CoServ who are impacted by Academic Initiatives and Sponsorships, as appropriate.
- Assists with behind-the-scenes details for CoServ-related community events working with the marketing and communications department for needed collateral and media exposure, when needed.
- Coordinates executables for all programs and events working with appropriate departments.
- Communicates and meets with members, customers and employees as well as the general public through the community outreach efforts.
- Assist with research of all giveaways for internal and external initiatives and sponsorship-related activities, as assigned.
- Package giveaways as requested for special events.
- Maintain files and associated documentation.
- Supporting the monitoring, analyzing, and tracking successes of the programs and events as assigned.
- Assist with administrative responsibilities within the department, when needed, to include all reporting needs, budget management, and other tasks, as assigned.
- Ability to attend after-hours, work-related functions as a CoServ representative.
- Work in the most efficient way possible with all departments/divisions in the development and implementation of CoServ’s plans and goals.
- Keep informed of all CoServ policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional disposition, retain confidential information and exercise good judgment in the completion of tasks.
- Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
- Attend approved CoServ training when required.
- Attend regular department and all-employee meetings.
- Assume team leadership roles within the department as directed by management.
- Represent CoServ at meetings, civic organizations and community functions when requested.

- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.

- Ability to be flexible with time as well as prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of and skill in using current software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Knowledge of SharePoint document storage, calendar items, and workflow processes
- Ability to proofread proficiently
- Advanced knowledge and skill in utilizing the Internet and social media for information and research
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Ability to always represent CoServ in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and in teams
- Ability to work effectively with professional, academic, business and political individuals as well as community-based entities
- Excellent human relations and communications skills, both written and oral

- Ability to operate basic office equipment, including scanners, advanced copiers, and laser printers
