Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP; Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner with FP&A and operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Develop and implement cost accounting for food manufacturing and multi-unit ops; Provide technical accounting guidance.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow and working capital.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls.
- Oversee all accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, tax compliance).
- Coordinate tax filings with external tax firms; support external audits & liaise with auditors.
- Lead and develop the accounting team.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and automation; Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency with accounting workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience
- 3–5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and reporting
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and technology teams
- Experience leading high-performing teams & accounting function in high-growth environments
- Familiarity with inventory & cost accounting methodologies
- Experience with multi-entity structures
- Proficiency in financial systems (i.e. Sage, Quickbooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- CPA certification
- Experience in restaurant, multi-unit retail, or food manufacturing
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods and participate in meetings with various stakeholders.
