Job Summary | The Materials Handler in the Receiving & Materials department is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe use of the forklift in receiving, lifting, and moving glass and non-glass products throughout Cardinal IG, a world-class glass fabricator that leads the nation in providing the highest quality insulating glass products for the residential window and door industry.

Essential Functions |

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelines
  • Safely operate powered equipment
  • Transport material throughout the facility and loading and unloading products
  • Ensure the driving zone is clear from debris or hazards as deemed necessary by department
  • Utilize handheld scanners to complete daily functions
  • Ensure all rejected glass is disposed of in the proper areas
  • Safely operate overhead crane to sling glass
  • Combine glass and rack products
  • Manually put away non palletized materials
  • Ensure all departments are adequately stocked with materials
  • Handle boxes or packages containing metal materials
  • Inspect product for quality to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
  • Perform housekeeping tasks in the workspace to maintain a clean work area
  • Assist the team, leads, and management in achieving departmental objectives
  • Ensure open communication with manager and team by ensuring radio remains on while working on the plant floor
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines
  • Requires regular in-person attendance

Workplace Environment |

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
  • Noise levels can be high and will vary based on the location in the plant

Qualifications |

  • Minimum of two years of power equipment experience is required
  • Consistent work history in glass manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Shift & Pay |

Shift: Monday-Friday 10:30 AM- 7:00 PM

Pay: $19.50
