Description
Slack is on a mission to make working life simpler, more pleasant and more productive. As a Senior Creative with a focus on film, you’ll help lead the creation of compelling video content that shows the impact of Slack on businesses and individuals around the world.
The role requires a creative and technical leader who is capable of concepting and developing video across channels, ensuring it meets the project’s goals and contributes to the overall content strategy while also engaging our audience and earning meaningful impressions.
An ideal candidate is experienced owning video projects through every stage of production. You can create the narrative, establish the vibe, build the treatment, develop a shot list with the DP… You’re even comfortable capturing and editing content on your own.
We’re looking for someone with a creative background in copywriting, art direction, video production, or content creation. You are passionate about film and animation, you can tell a great story, and you’re always current on social trends and best practices. You are strategic, results-driven, and willing to help out on any project.
You’re also proactive and work well with others.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, send us a nice hello, and links to your work and experience.
What You’ll Do —
Develop videos that tell bold, engaging stories about Slack — our product, our customers, and our initiatives.
Connect the narrative across a large, integrated marketing program, tapping into a variety of channels.
Be a go-to partner to outside studios and agencies, ensuring the work meets expectations and aligns with brand guidelines.
Bring a strong point of view and rationale for concepts, strategy, and creative decisions. Recommend the best path forward based on your expertise.
Take ownership of projects and actively encourage team participation. Be a leader and a mentor. Champion cross-functional collaboration.
Prioritize your work and communicate those priorities to the many people who will want you to help them. Manage your time well.
What You Should Have —
7 to 10 years as a professional copywriter, art director, content creator, or creative video producer. Knowledge of editing is a plus.
A portfolio of your work, with a high volume and variety of video. (Ex. Social, product demos, hype films, animated shorts, brand spots, etc.)
An understanding of Slack, its voice, and its users, as well as best practices for video channels, like YouTube, Instagram, commercials, etc.
A proactive approach to video development, including concepting, process, organization, and communication.
Proven leadership with the ability to balance multiple projects with lots of moving parts, all with an uncanny attention to detail.
Adaptability and agility when projects change, timelines shift, or scopes vary. You have a wide network of film production agencies and professionals you can tap on, and the ability to help your team to mitigate issues as they arise.
You are a decent human being who is collaborative, humble, hardworking, and smart.
