Key Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment such as Ditch Witch or Vermeer.
- Drill bore paths and install conduit and cable underground based on engineered plans.
- Adapt drilling techniques to varying soil conditions including rock, clay, and sand.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of drilling rigs and tools.
- Communicate effectively with the locator to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Follow safety standards and company procedures on every job site.
- Maintain accurate logs and daily reporting related to production and drilling progress.
- Represent the company professionally with clients, inspectors, and teammates.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating HDD equipment or working as a locator.
- Skilled in using DigiTrak F5/F2, Subsite TK series, or equivalent locating systems.
- Experience in telecom/fiber optic construction and underground utility installations.
- Ability to read and interpret bore logs, site drawings, and utility maps.
- Familiarity with utility codes and permitting in TX, NV, and FL.
- Valid driver's license (CDL Class A or B preferred).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred (willingness to obtain required).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to provide a qualified crew is highly desired.
