The Manager, Strategic Proposal Team will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales and Customer Success to oversee all aspects of the proposal lifecycle. Additionally, this role will manage proposal team members, providing guidance and support to foster growth and performance.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Lead the development of high-quality, customized proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other client requests.
- Ensure proposals align with EMS|MC’s messaging, brand, and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input, ensuring technical accuracy and compelling content.
- Establish and maintain a proposal content library, including templates, case studies, and other supporting materials.
- Manage the proposal timeline, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Conduct final reviews of proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal quality standards.
- Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of proposal writers and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
- Develop training programs and professional development opportunities for the proposal team.
- Allocate resources effectively to balance workloads and meet organizational needs.
- Strategic Responsibilities
- Analyze proposal outcomes and feedback to continuously improve the proposal process and win rate.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices in proposal management.
- Partner with the Sales and Marketing leadership to develop strategies that align with EMS|MC’s growth objectives.
- Support the Director of Marketing with additional strategic initiatives and projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in proposal writing and management, preferably in healthcare, consulting, or a similar industry.
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing and winning complex RFP responses.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in proposal management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in proposal writing and management, preferably in healthcare, consulting, or a similar industry.
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing and winning complex RFP responses.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in proposal management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- The office environment is a controlled indoor setting with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
- Noise levels in the office are typically moderate and consistent with a standard office setting.
- For employees approved to work in a hybrid or remote setting, a quiet, private workspace free from significant distractions is required to ensure productivity during work hours.
- A reliable internet connection is required for hybrid/remote work. EMS|MC will provide necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset.
- Sitting: frequent and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
- Communication: frequent and prolonged periods of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Fine motor skills: frequent use of hands for typing and operating a computer mouse.
- Movement: occasional walking and climbing of stairs; limited bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying of office-related items.
- Travel: must be able to travel occasionally to attend required company meetings.
