Responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, and delivering quality nursing care to diverse patient groups, including pediatric to geriatric populations.
- Provides supervision and direction to LVN/LPNs, nursing assistants, and clerical staff, potentially serving as charge nurse.
- Develops, reviews, and updates comprehensive nursing care plans based on assessments and interdisciplinary input.
- Implements care plans safely, prioritizing patient needs, and documents procedures accurately.
- Evaluates patient responses, progress toward goals, and revises plans as needed; completes daily progress notes and flow sheets.
- Educates patients and families, adapting teaching methods, and acts as a preceptor and role model for staff and students.
- Ensures effective communication, maintains confidentiality, reports unsafe practices, and fosters teamwork.
- Requires a BSN (preferred), 6 months to 1 year RN experience, BLS certification, RN license, and a graduate nurse permit.
