Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity & IT Infrastructure Intern to join our IT department. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network administration, and IT infrastructure management within a large corporate immigration law firm. The intern will work alongside experienced IT professionals to support security initiatives, infrastructure projects, and risk management efforts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and security audits to enhance IT security posture.
• Help manage identity and access controls, including user provisioning and deprovisioning.
• Assist in maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Document security incidents, IT processes, and technical configurations.
• Support end-users with security best practices and IT-related troubleshooting as needed.
• Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure improvements and system optimization.
  
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and IT infrastructure fundamentals.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection, or intrusion detection systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of scripting languages or cloud platforms is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
• Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone.
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Regular and on-time attendance.
• Must be able to prioritized, schedule and complete testing required for multiple applications with overlapping schedules.
• A certain degree of creativity and flexibility is required.
• Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
• Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
