
Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Position Overview:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will provide direct behavior-analytic services to individuals of all ages, variety of diagnosis and disabilities, in diverse settings, including homes, communities, and/or schools as assigned, under the close supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA and/or Lead Clinician.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct one-on-one behavior therapy, including modeling appropriate behaviors and implementing behavior reduction interventions
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed by BCBA, BCaBA, or Lead Clinician
- Assist with functional behavioral assessments
- Collect, record, and analyze data to monitor client progress and response to interventions
- Document clinical session notes in compliance with payor requirements and professional standards
- Maintain accurate and current client progress records
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure service consistency
- Participate in team meetings and professional development trainings
- Follow BACB ethical guidelines and HIPAA-compliant billing practices
- Perform other professional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) job requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within 30 days of hire; must maintain active certification throughout employment
- CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire
- Willingness to work with program participants of all ages (both children and adults)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written), with attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to complete the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 30 lbs., frequent sitting and standing, kneeling, and running with program participants
- Ability to work under pressure and in high-stress environments
- Adherence to all organizational and funder policies, including professionalism, billing procedures, attendance, time management, dress code, and fraud prevention
- Must follow professional boundaries as outlined by Foothills Behavioral and Education Consultants and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Adherence to HIPAA, confidentiality, and mandated reporting requirements under state and federal laws
- Maintain certification in crisis management and comply with crisis-related protocols
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems and technologies as directed
- Must pass initial and ongoing criminal background checks and maintain eligibility as required by insurance funders
- Possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance
- Consistent access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel between client appointments
- Meet minimum billable hour requirements as outlined by supervisor or program manager
- Willingness to participate in ongoing supervision, training, and performance management (on-site and off-site)
- Flexibility to provide behavior-analytic services in various locations (e.g., homes, schools, community settings)
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Preferred Qualifications
- Active, valid RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- At least one (1) year of experience providing behavior-analytic services to individuals with special needs
- Experience with community-based services
- Some college coursework in psychology, education, or a related field
- Ongoing coursework or clinical supervision in applied behavior analysis or a related field
