The Opportunity
As VP, Commercial, you will lead the strategic and operational growth of MLC’s revenue across sponsorship, media rights, and emerging commercial assets. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, this role oversees all commercial activities across MLC’s portfolio, including Major League Cricket, Minor League Cricket, and the USA National Teams.
You will develop integrated partnership solutions for brands and media entities that elevate MLC's platform while driving tangible business results. Your remit includes building new relationships, deepening existing ones, and establishing the league as a premier partner across sport, media, and culture.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Own the development and delivery of MLC’s overarching commercial strategy across its entire portfolio of assets.
- Lead revenue-generating activities, including global and domestic partnerships, media rights, licensing, and emerging live and non-live assets.
- Build strong business cases for new investment in cricket properties through a blend of traditional rights and innovative platforms.
- Lead strategic sponsorship and economic impact research initiatives, using insights to inform commercial positioning, partner ROI analysis, and long-term asset valuation.
- Lead direct sales to brands and agencies identifying strategic alignments and building integrated proposals across MLC’s portfolio of properties.
- Establish segment strategies and pricing frameworks that drive both reach and ROI.
- Negotiate and close six-to-eight-figure commercial agreements with long-term growth potential.
- Drive the strategic exploitation of data and fantasy sports betting rights across U.S. and global markets, unlocking new revenue streams and enhancing fan engagement through innovative commercial partnerships.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across marketing, events, broadcast, and operations to ensure seamless delivery of all commercial assets.
- Work closely with legal, finance, and events to support deal structuring and compliance.
- Champion a data-driven sales culture, using insights and reporting to guide decision-making.
- Lead and grow a high-performing commercial team across sales, activation, and media.
- Serve as a key liaison with global cricket partners, media networks, commercial advisors, and investors.
- Actively contribute to league-wide executive strategy, governance, and international expansion.
Experience
- 10+ years of senior commercial experience in professional sports, media, or entertainment.
- A proven track record of securing high-value sponsorship and media rights deals.
- Strong relationships with global brands, agencies, broadcasters, and digital platforms.
- Industry insight across the sports and media landscape in the US.
- Experience working across multi-property sports ecosystems.
- Strategic seller with a consultative mindset and a passion for building long-term partnerships.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, platforms, and technologies.
- Excellent communicator with strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to manage complexity across stakeholders, timelines, and partner deliverables.
- Entrepreneurial, driven, and able to operate at pace with limited bureaucracy.
- Significant growth in commercial revenue across MLC, Minor League Cricket, and the US national teams.
