Tessa International School is a fast-growing bilingual and international school located in Hoboken, New Jersey—just one subway stop from Manhattan, New York. We offer three language tracks: Spanish, French, and Mandarin, and are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) and the French Ministry of Education. As one of our English Primary Lead Teachers, you will teach two primary classes in alternation with a target language Lead Teacher. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that connect classroom learning to real-world experiences, inspiring enthusiasm and academic excellence in line with IB and state standards.
  • Differentiate instruction using a variety of developmentally appropriate teaching and assessment methods to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and support the academic, emotional, and social development of students.
  • Maintain high expectations for student behavior to ensure a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Integrate technology meaningfully to enhance student learning.
  • Foster a strong sense of community by actively engaging with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Collaborate constructively with colleagues, leadership, and staff across the school.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Participate in curriculum development, team planning, and faculty meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent command of English
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience teaching primary grades
  • Master’s degree in Education preferred
  • Experience with the IB PYP and/or dual language programs preferred
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring young learners
