Starting salary range: $95,000 - $108,000
Primary purpose: Manages the development and production of the annual Critical Care Congress program content.
Responsibilities:
I. Annual Congress Program Content and Delivery
- Coordinates the development of the annual Congress program content by working collaboratively with the Congress Program Committee.
- Stays abreast of current research in the field, along with the latest in adult education methodologies, and sharing information with the Congress Program Committee and relevant staff.
- Works collaboratively with the director of education and related committees to identify member educational needs and develop educational program strategies and implementation plans to address those needs.
- Works collaboratively with accredited continuing education staff to ensure that educational activities comply with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and other regulatory agency policies, procedures, and practices.
- Works collaboratively with the director of research and quality and the associate director of journals to coordinate the inclusion of SCCM work products (e.g., articles, guidelines) into the program.
- Works collaboratively with the director, other staff, and volunteers to develop and implement benchmarking methodologies. Provides analysis and develops strategies based on these data.
- Works closely with the director of education to develop and deploy effective learning strategies, techniques, and methodologies to ensure knowledge transfer and behavior changes to positively impact patient outcomes.
- Supervises staff in charge of abstract and case report submission, review, approval, award and scheduling processes.
- Manages Congress faculty, ensuring compliance with SCCM policies and procedures.
II. Educational Program Strategy
- Coordinates Congress implementation activities with marketing, communications, meeting planning, finance, and other areas within SCCM to ensure the successful development and delivery of annual Congress.
- Works closely with department team members to develop work plans and budgets and ensure that financial targets are met.
- Establishes collaborative relationships with other organizations to assist in the development of joint educational opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five to 10 years’ experience in medical education development
- Experience with planning and implementing an annual conference for a medical association
- Experience in medical association setting desired
- Working knowledge of faculty management systems (e.g. Cadmium, Planstone, OpenWater, Attendee Interactive)
- Project and timeline management skills
- Excellent skills in working closely with volunteer medical professionals
- Excellent interpersonal skills for working with staff from all departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience in a technology-oriented, remote work environment
- Minimal travel <10%
- Residence in the Chicagoland area
