Position Summary
This position provides the full scope of financial leadership and support to the US Commercial Coffee operations including controllership function, financial closing & reporting, operational analysis, and systems support across the US region of ofi, and will be reporting to the Vice President of Finance. This leadership role includes, forecasting and budgeting processes for the NA Commercial Coffee business, drives variance analysis, and makes data-based recommendations to achieve strategic objectives.
This individual has a central role in monitoring and driving total business unit income & profitability and will be a leader and initiator of business and accounting control activities across the organization. Through conduct and know-how, fosters respect for the Company among those people involved in the advancement of our business.
This position will manage, train and mentor the regional finance leaders and controllers to ensure corporate values and ethics are instilled and to develop the future leaders for the division The ideal candidate is comfortable challenging the status quo and developing creative means to improve processes, and comfortable in a hands-on finance role supporting a fast-growing organization. They will provide accurate and timely information while identifying and supporting initiatives to enable the organization to meet strategic objectives.
Position Responsibilities
This leadership opportunity will be responsible for taking the financial lead and business partner to NA Commercial Coffee. They’ll also oversee accounting staff across multiple locations and coordinate month end close, variance analysis, and rolling forecasts.

- Monitor PC level cashflow & Working capital
- Planning cashflow needs and alert management team
- Improve efficiency and reduce cost across business; debt management & collection
- Position sheet and Risk management to ensure we are Credit & Counterparty risk limits.
- Adhering to financial policy to ensure proper internal controls and guide the business
- Understanding of Futures Derivatives & Options.
- Provide financial expertise with business process controls improvement. Provide policy update recommendations and ensure team training and understanding of said policy and changes.
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing and supporting business transactions in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Guide and give direction to support team for financial close
- Coordinate with the team to ensure timely closure of books, for all reporting such as MIS reporting, Forecasts etc.,
- Review perpetual inventory, monitor cycle and/or physical inventories, and reporting and analysis of variances. Make recommendations as needed.
- Conduct Fair Value analysis and Weekly Book value
- Develop and analyze financial reporting including budgeting, forecasting, working capital management, and variance analysis on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Coordinate with each business for Budget preparation and financial strategy
- Lead the internal and external audit engagement. Support resolution of issues that arise during audit field work.
- Coordinate with each business within cocoa for yearend forecast, with highlight Risks & Opportunity with analytics.
- Manage Business Review Meeting (BRM) Docket Preparation and variance analysis
- Lead and support Olam’s business growth by coordinating the business needs within Financial systems across US locations.
- Lead/coordinate accounting projects initiated by the global accounting group. Ensure open communication between various stakeholders. Coordinate with Corporate Internal Audit Department. Highlights any control discrepancy or risk to both his business management and functional management.
- Recommends policies and standard operating procedures to drive change while securing adequate level of control. Work with the business units, the finance organization, and General Management in the Division to drive those projects for timely completion
- Ensure compliance with all US and foreign regulatory requirements including coordination with Tax department to ensure compliance with various tax regulations.
- Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) plan tracking and management.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, scenario models, and other support for Operations and Commercial teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related major is required, with Finance or Accounting emphasis preferred.
- Ten (10) years of accounting experience is required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting software and Business Intelligence software. SAP and/or Tableau experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build relationships and effectively manage across multiple business units in a multinational organization.
- Must be comfortable in a hands-on finance role with the ability to work collaboratively with Operations management.
- Ability and willingness to travel, including internationally when needed.
