Our Director of Operations will work out of our West Business Unit and be located in the greater Southern California region. This is an exciting new role for the team as we continue to grow! The Director of Operations is responsible for driving our best-in-class project delivery process and ensuring the successful execution of projects to clients on-time and on-budget. Your willingness to travel around 20% travel within the region is required.


Target Salary: $185,000 - $220,000+ depending on experience


Director Of Operations Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure that projects are adequately staffed and that quality is maintained.
  • Implement company processes and approved workflows to ensure that key performance metrics and reporting requirements are continuously achieved.
  • Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and implementation of financial metrics designed to monitor financial performance.
  • Understand systems, procedures and operating practices, review performance data, and form control, budgetary and personnel requirements; seek to implement positive and efficient changes.
  • Mentor and provide training to employees as necessary.
  • Meet operation objectives by assigning appropriate personnel, set expectations and ensure adherence thereof.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Participate in monthly project and team reviews, provide input to financial forecasts, adhere to standard operating procedures, track and drive cash flow and cash collection policies.
  • Ensure Project Managers are adequately coordinating with customer stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and 3rd party stakeholders (utilities, AHJ, etc.) to ensure delivery commitments and schedules are achieved.
  • Provide technical expertise and scope/estimate reviews of business development’s presentations and meetings with customers to ensure they are meeting both the customers’ and SitelogIQ’s expectations.
  • Facilitate the successful handoff of projects from the development process to the delivery process and upon completion from the delivery process.
  • Manage performance in a dynamic environment. Adjust workloads and resource commitments of the Project Management team.
  • Provide monthly feedback and alignment of financial commitments with Annual Operating Plan. Address any risks or opportunities within the existing backlog.
  • Verify Project Managers are following the contractual agreements and schedules of value, billing timely and collecting on work performed.
  • Offer guidance and opportunities to Project Managers so that they may become best in class.
  • Provide feedback to all internal stakeholders regarding what can be improved, what is exceeding expectations and what needs attention.


Director Of Operations Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction or similar technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10-years’ experience in construction or construction-related engineering including 4-years’ experience working in the ESCO related industry.
  • Experience with facility systems and construction methods, building codes and construction testing services
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment with changing and/or competing priorities
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with a construction scheduling software such MS Project or Primavera
