The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the overall accuracy of the perpetual inventory record. This includes working with various departments across the company.
General Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise inventory control personnel to ensure compliance to cycle counts and inventory procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts by: performing daily cycle counts (locations and parts); monitoring put-away activities; monitoring and maintaining data consistency between databases; and research inventory discrepancies found during picking.
- Recording inventory adjustments and associated reason codes; Evaluate transactions to resolve count discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Managing the disposition of end-of-life parts, scrap, damages and non-conforming inventory
- Assist in determining location for all new parts
- Maintain a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Warehouse safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Suggest modifications to established procedures to improve production efficiency, improve quality, and/or reduce cost.
- Generate and maintain inventory reports.
- Provides appropriate direction and support to team members to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of inventory controls systems and procedures.
- Partner with accounting and develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Manage all associates reporting to the position. Recruit, train evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor activities, performance, and safety.
- Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly action plans that improve quality, inventory accuracy and service.
- Must have a “can do” attitude with a sense of urgency and dedication to complete key daily task on-time .
- May be required to use material handling equipment to perform job functions, as needed. Equipment used can include but are not limited to: sit-down, stand-up, pallet jack, etc.
- Responsible for the upkeep of equipment and tools (e.g. barcode scanners) and reporting any equipment problems. Will adhere to the Powered Industry Vehicles (PIV) basic safety guidelines while operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Will maintain an active forklift certification.
- Receipt of 3rd party shipments into the warehouse
- Accurate documentation of intercompany transfers
- Processing inventory adjustments for non-shipment related transactions (damaged inventory, end-of-life parts, scrap, Return-to-Vendor, etc.
- Overseeing the periodic cycle count policies and procedures
- Reporting to warehouse and senior management the results of periodic counts
- Identifying the root cause of inventory adjustments of any type and pursuing resolution to the broadly defined logistics process to eliminate transaction discrepancies
- Conducting periodic physical inventory counts
- Overseeing internal and 3rd party audits
- Educating and training team members on inventory practices
- Leading a team dedicated to ensuring inventory accuracy at the highest level
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in Excel, Word, Power Point, Inventory Management Systems, and system integrations.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft Business Dynamics-Navision platform

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Accounting or related field preferred.
- 4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or inventory management.
- 3+ years of experience in a management position (lead, supervisor)
- Experience in continuous improvement
Physical Job Requirements
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, kneeling, bending while training and working in the warehouse area.
- Constantly communicates with employees and leaders, both verbally and in writing.
- Frequently must be able to access and navigate the warehouse facility.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
