Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties of the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Key Functions:

  • Has to train in all areas: Check in/out, Chart Auditing, Call Center functions.
  • Provides excellent customer service to patients by listening and appropriately serving patients.
  • Contributes to an overall positive work atmosphere through actions and attitude.
  • Relays relevant information to the appropriate internal staff.
  • Follows practice procedures for appointment entry, check-in and/or check-out processes.
  • Participates in office meetings and educational activities.
  • Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Complies with HIPAA procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Chart Audits/Superbill Prep

  • Print Superbills for every Physician and Physician Assistant (PA) who are in clinic for the day you are working on
  • Print Cover Sheets for same as above
  • Verify Insurance in Athena or using additional websites if necessary
  • Ensure insurance is active and we are in network
  • Ensure if Referral is required, we have one
  • At the bottom of the superbill, note the Allocation set (90/10, 80/20, etc.) or Co-Pay amount and highlight.
  • Note Deductible Remaining and/or Out of Pocket (OOP) Remaining. If both are met, note Ded/OOP Met then in the Drop-Down Chart Alert box, type in the date, “OOP Met”, and your initials
  • If the patient is coming in for a Post Op appointment, write in the global period ending date at the bottom of the superbill.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma, or general education degree (GED), or one to three months relates experience, and/or training or equivalent combination or education and experience.
