Position Summary

Psychologists perform a wide array of mental health services, including assessments, treatment planning, review of treatment outcomes data, group and individual therapy. A Psychologist will provide behavioral health services to severely and persistently mentally ill adults, and/or to children with severe emotional disturbance. The behavioral health services for adults will aim to promote recovery and stability for community living. The behavioral health services for children will aim to promote resiliency by helping the client/family achieve higher levels of functioning.

Core Duties And Responsibilities

  • Triage individual cases to determine appropriateness for agency services and medical necessity.
  • Utilizes a variety of treatment modalities such as psychotherapy and various evidence-based or promising practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Collaborates with clients to facilitate their participation in treatment, including establishing clear treatment objectives and devising intervention strategies that promote recovery and resilience.
  • Assesses treatment response and outcomes using clinical data, adapts treatment approaches while including the client in the treatment decision-making process.
  • As a member of multidisciplinary treatment team, plans treatment and disposition of cases across a diverse clinical team based on client's assessed level of care.
  • Attend clinical and administrative supervision meetings as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in all in-service training as necessary.
  • Responsible for timely completion of documentation in the client's clinical record per Enki, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, DHCS and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for meeting assigned minimum direct patient care requirements on a monthly basis.
  • May be assigned cases from various programs based on the needs of the clinic and its clients.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education And Experience Preferred

  • A Doctorate from an accredited college or university in psychology, educational psychology, education with the field of specialization in counseling psychology, or in a discipline deemed equivalent by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must be licensed or license eligible in California as a Ph.D. or Psy.D.
  • For license eligible candidates, a waiver issued by the California Department of Mental Health in accordance with Welfare & Institutions Code Section 5751.1-2. Waivers for newly-trained psychologists shall not exceed five years from the commencement of employment in California.
  • Valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and eligibility to drive for the Company preferred.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to perform in a positive, courteous, flexible and adaptive manner.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
  • Computer literate and experienced with computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using Exym and/or Electronic Medical Health Record is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and written.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Pay Range: $73,000 - $97,000/Year (Determined by experience and qualifications)

Physical Requirements

  • See well enough (with or without corrected vision) to read fine print, hand-written materials, and a computer screen.
  • Speak and hear well enough (with or without assistive device) to converse in person and by telephone.
  • Finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms, including ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Have the mobility (with or without assistive device) to stand, sit, crouch, and move from one work area to another.
  • Have the strength to lift, carry or push office equipment and supplies used in normal job functions up to 20 lbs.
  • Stamina to effectively perform work activities.
