Position Summary

The Inspections Technician is responsible for meeting with city/county inspectors and ensuring residential solar installations meet code requirements.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review site photos and prep materials for inspections
  • Attend inspections requiring minimal cleanup work
  • Verify labeling and placards meet code
  • Confirm inspection timeframes with AHJ each morning
  • Set up/tie off ladders and rivet placards
  • Open electrical panels/junction boxes for inspectors
  • Document corrections and communicate updates to the Branch Manager
  • Maintain vehicle stock and safety standards
  • Service solar systems as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must have a valid Michigan Journeyman or Electrical License

Experience

  • 1+ year of experience in a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Meets minimum licensing requirements per market
  • Familiar with electrical plans and site layouts
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work on rooftops
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Demands And Abilities

  • Frequent lifting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and standing
  • Use of hand/power tools and ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
  • Must maintain balance and react quickly in physical tasks

Travel Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and the ability to travel to job sites as needed.
