This position establishes strategies and standards for Decision Science and Information Delivery data and analytics practices across the enterprise. This role is a thought leader for business partners and executives to develop guiding analytics principles.

What You'll Do

Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and/or places objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Rarely performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. What You'll Do
- Lead a team of leaders and analysts to support complex requests and capability builds in support of the business.
- Identifies process and performance deficiencies and recommends courses of action to improve and resolve operational challenges.
- Define and steer the strategic direction of analytics practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives and emerging industry standards.
- Influence the modern data strategy by identifying analytic needs and collaborating with technology partners to develop solutions for future-state analytics by anticipating organizational needs.
- Establish and lead an enterprise community of analytics practice to promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Implements protocols and supports multiple functional areas.
- Collaborates with executives and other leaders to understand and prioritize analytical needs to deliver solutions and drive implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in data analytics and insights methodologies to enhance fact-based decision-making processes.
- Use advanced knowledge of technology, reporting, and data visualization to interpret and present complex information to business partners.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 10 years of experience required in the area of data and analytics in the insurance industry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading people.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Certification in analytics or data engineering preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
- Demonstrated written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to represent the company with external constituents.
- Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty.
- Possesses strong technical aptitude.
- Expertise Proficiency with SQL or similar, dimensional modeling, pipeline orchestration, building data pipelines to transform data, and BI visualizations.
- Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (example Tableau, Power BI).
- Acts as translation layer for and conduit to technology for all aspects of the work.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and tools.
- Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback.
- Develops and delivers effective presentations.
