Hood Container Corporation is seeking a results-driven and dynamic Logistics Supervisor to lead operations at our Packaging Services facility in Owensboro, KY. This critical role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the full scope of logistics functions, including shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, forklift operations, and warehouse organization. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience, a strong understanding of WMS and TMS systems, and a passion for building high-performing teams.

This critical role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the full scope of logistics functions, including shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, forklift operations, and warehouse organization. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience, a strong understanding of WMS and TMS systems, and a passion for building high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including material movement, shipping/receiving, space utilization, and inventory management.
- Supervise and support shipping/receiving staff; ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment and efficient dock turnaround times.
- Maintain warehouse organization through 5S principles; conduct audits to ensure standards are met.
- Ensure accurate inventory through cycle counts and physical inventories; serve as WMS expert (Amtech & JD Edwards).
- Serve as a key liaison with internal departments and third-party logistics partners to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Collaborate with staffing agency partners to manage forklift operator scheduling and seasonal staffing needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and confidentiality policies while fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- 3–5 years of logistics leadership experience required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field highly preferred.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (JD Edwards, Amtech, SAP) and transportation management systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
