Position Function:

Primary Accountabilities:
- Profitability
- Lead the effort to develop and maintain effective line-of-business, officer, customer and product profitability systems and reports that can be used by management as a decision tool. Includes developing and maintaining metrics/dashboards to measure profitability, which incorporates funds transfer pricing and considers accounting, economic and capital returns.
- Provide action-oriented reporting to management that leverages data to provide new financial insights, visibility on trends, and makes specific recommendations on strategies to improve performance.
- Proactively interface with all levels of management to ensure they understand profitability methodology, allocations and assumptions. Analyze and recommend changes to allocations and assumptions when necessary.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting/Forecasting
- Actively participate in the Company’s strategic planning process, including leading the annual corporate business plan.
- Lead the Company’s annual budgeting process ensuring it is effective, efficient and drives towards the Company’s financial targets while appropriately managing risk.
- Proactively work with senior management, sales teams and support centers to establish an annual budget and profitability measurements at the total entity and line-of-business levels. Ensure line-of-businesses understand and are committed to their budgets, and that it is properly aligned with sales incentive plans to drive the right behaviors.
- Lead ongoing forecasting of financial results, which provides management with timely updates on anticipated income statement results, enabling visibility and corrective actions if needed.
- Financial Analysis & Business Support
- Business Partners- Provide financial guidance/support to all areas of the Bank, including analysis of budget variances/trends and initiatives to drive stronger go-forward performance.
- Financial Initiative Proformas- Assist all areas of the Bank with financial proformas of proposed investments which analyze the P&L impact and return on investment in a consistent and accurate manner to enable management to make sound decisions.
- Produce reports that compare the Company’s financial performance relative to competitors and the industry.
- Financial Leadership
- Effectively build and develop FP&A team to ensure desired results. Providing ongoing coaching, leadership, development and succession planning for team members. Responsible for recruiting, onboarding and retaining talent in the FP&A area.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all lines of business to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
- Practice continuous improvement and seek efficiency and process improvement initiatives, while supporting employees through the change management process.
- Data Governance
- Participate in data governance and work with other departments who distribute internal reports with financial data used for management reporting and ensure consistency in framework for reporting.
- Administer application systems, which includes (may not be limited to) the systems for budget, profitability, funds transfer pricing, ensuring system data accuracy, reliability and strong internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Ensure systems and reporting are kept up to date with ongoing technological developments and leverage new technologies to strengthen processes and improve efficiencies.
- Teamwork
- Supports the Chief Financial Officer, Controller and Treasurer.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, budgeting, management or financial reporting required.
- 4+ years of experience in a managerial role required.
- CPA License preferred.
- Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
- Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
- Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
- Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
