Key Responsibilities
- Assist fitters and welders in the fabrication and welding of multi-component parts
- Perform tack welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Set up welding machines and equipment for basic operations
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to meet project specifications
- Use grinders and hand tools to prepare or finish materials
- Inspect work for quality and accuracy, ensuring project compliance
- Follow all company and industry safety protocols
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in a tacker or basic welding role preferred
- Basic understanding of shipyard terminology and structural components
- Must pass a drug test and physical
- No formal education or certification required; skills will be tested onsite
- Entry-level candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
