BASIC FUNCTIONS: St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center is looking for a compassionate, mission-driven individual to join the Development team. The Development Coordinator plays an integral role on the team and supports SMSC by assisting the Development department with marketing, development, social media, and database maintenance and improvement.

Individual will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Occasionally may have to lift boxes and materials up to 25 lbs., for purposes of set up for fund-raising activities. Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists the Development team with data entry and donor record upkeep with emphasis on accuracy and consistency
- Records all gifts accurately using Bloomerang, leading donor management software
- Selects, prepares, and sends appropriate individualized acknowledgments for all gifts based on predetermined criteria
- Processes data being communicated on Bloomerang
- Ensures acknowledgement letters are accurate and complete for donors and mailed in a timely manner
- Availability to work extended hours during peak event seasons
- Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and the ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with little supervision
- Maintains and performs record and data cleanup/updates in Bloomerang to ensure consistency and integrity
- Handles calls to and from donors, volunteers, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
- Organize, create, and maintain development records, files, and other materials
- Assist in the maintenance of the website and social media sites
- Represent the organization at outside events, as needed
- Assist with programming to get student media releases, as needed
- Assist with PR/Marketing firms, as needed
- Occasionally coordinates electronic newsletter
- Assist in managing correspondence to donors and sponsors in coordination with development
- Provides support at events, including registration and donation processing
- Assists with the creation of materials for all fundraising appeals, promotional projects, and cultivation of events, internally and externally
- Responsible for all other duties that are assigned by the manager
- Accurate data entry skills balanced with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Experience working with donor management software such as Bloomerang
- Excellent verbal, written, typing, and proofreading skills
- Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively without direct supervision
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions, policies, and procedures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills when working with data in a Windows environment
- Being able to speak a second language is a definite plus

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in development, marketing or related subject is preferred
- Six months experience with non-profit or social services
- Must be able to persuasively present self and organization in oral and written format
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism
- Two years experience working with donor management software such as Bloomerang
- Must be able to meet all pre-employment requirements, including: pre-employment physical and screenings, valid CA driver’s license, current DMV report
- Ability to meet Community Care Licensing, including fingerprint requirements
- First Aid and CPR are required for the position
