The world relies on HPS to continually conceive and produce state-of-the-art transformer technology. We currently have an opening for a Team Lead, 2nd shift, come grow with us! This position is at our Compton, CA location and is required to work 2nd shift hours (2pm - 11:30pm).
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the work & activities are completed in a safe & productive manner, implementing Continuous Improvement measures to reach company goals, and to meet the expectations of the customer. The Team Lead also coaches & encourages individuals to perform to the best of their ability, while striving for team success. Team Leads are expected to train and perform production work within their respective departments.

Key Responsibilities Include
Provide Team leadership to production employees on 2nd shift.
- Ensure processes are being followed and resolve any production issues as needed. Assign jobs to operators and track efficiency, quality and ship on time
- Conduct team standup meeting, encourage employees to take ownership & responsibility (housekeeping, following procedures, safety, PPE, etc.)
- Ensure effective communication between departments/functions; Responds to and addresses unexpected workload increases/ decreases
- Share working knowledge and experience in all areas of production department
- Support/create team cooperation to meet & exceed team goals
- Track weekly Engineering and Defect MOS reporting
- Required to perform production work in the area that they are responsible as well as Material kitting and delivery to work area.
- Address equipment breakdowns/failures and notify responsible parties.
- Adhere to and ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures and SPI’s including PPE’s (Personal Protective Equipment), SDS, WHIMIS etc. are followed in the department responsible for
- Report all injuries, health and safety infractions or any perceived unsafe working conditions to either supervisor or any JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) member
- Ensure daily pre-start inspections on all required equipment are performed at the start of each shift
- Assist production supervisor in performing 5S inspections and audits as required in department area of responsibility including tool boards
- High School education or GED required.
- Advanced training in Electrical degree program or relevant experience.
- Previous Manufacturing and leadership experience required.
- Forklift experience
