CBS Sacramento, the owned and operated duopoly in West Sacramento, has an immediate opening for a full-time news photographer/editor. We are looking for a candidate that would possibly work and live in the Stockton-Modesto market.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have a working knowledge of the XDCAM EX camera and GRASS VALLEY editing systems. Candidates should have a working knowledge of live trucks, bonded cellular packs, and be able to travel at a moment’s notice. We are looking for storytellers and team players. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. - 3+ years of television experience covering breaking news, features and sports.
- Sound journalistic judgment working with a reporter or solo
- Passion for visual storytelling and putting together natural sound pieces
- Excellent lighting skills.
- Deadline oriented a must
- Proficient non-linear editor on all platforms
- Experience operating microwave, bonded-cellular packs and/or satellite trucks.
- Valid driver’s License and excellent driving record a must (don’t apply if you have any outstanding issues)
- Ability to work any shift, night or day, weekends and holidays
- Occasional travel in a moment’s notice and overnight stays when needed
