Vast is looking for a Demand Planner, reporting to the SVP of Supply Chain & Quality, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in demand, supply, and fulfillment planning to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Mission Management, to ensure alignment across planning processes.
  • Develop key performance metrics to track actions, assess risks, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), part records, and master data to support procurement and production processes.
  • Monitor commodity and part lead times to aid in the design release process and mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Facilitate procurement planning messages to ensure efficient purchasing and supplier coordination.
  • Develop, manage, and provide material availability insights in Clear-to-Build meetings to support cross-functional teams.
  • Update demand forecasts in response to engineering change orders (ECOs) and ensure clear communication of updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Enhance visibility of material status through reporting tools, including Line of Balance (LOB) and material shortage reports.
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, demonstrating teamwork and alignment with company goals.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in demand planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing different manufacturing states of hardware.
  • Ability to support scheduling discussions with multiple stakeholders and customers.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and understanding their integration within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Familiarity with program/project management and managing associated schedules.
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information.
  • Logical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, adjusting to abrupt changes in strategic direction.


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones


Pay Range

  • L1- Demand Planner I : $29.39 - $42.61
  • L2- Demand Planner II: $76,400 - $110,700


Salary Range: California

$76,400—$110,700 USD
