About the position: As a part-time Laboratory Technician in Training, you will train in preparing digital images from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. Work is performed in accordance with standard laboratory practice under limited supervision.

Education: Bachelor's or Associates degree from a four or two year-college or university. Certification eligible. 12 hours of Biology/Chemistry credits
Experience: Histology-specific and Laboratory Technical skills. Prefer 2 years of lab experience but not required
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word.
Schedule: Part-time Monday-Friday 11am-4pm

About the position: As a part-time Laboratory Technician in Training, you will train in preparing digital images from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. Work is performed in accordance with standard laboratory practice under limited supervision.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for becoming proficient in day-to-day operations of Lab Services; specifically:
- Operate a transmission electron microscope (TEM)
- Adjust parameters like beam intensity, magnification and focus to capture high-resolution images.
- Assess tissue adequacy for scoping
- Capture and process digital images of samples
- Use image analysis software to measure structures and identify features
- Perform quality control checks on materials produced
- Perform routine Maintenance and calibration on EM scopes
- Troubleshoot technical issues with the microscope or imaging software
- Controlling operations of equipment and systems
- Monitor and assess performance of self to make improvements or take corrective action
- Assist in Lab for other duties as assigned
- Practice safe work procedures while performing job duties
- Periodically review of work product for compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable workload limits
- Administrative Duties
- Maintenance of Lab logs and tracking sheets

- All SOPs must be followed
- Any discrepancies, errors and/or deviation from the SOPs or Policies must be reported to the Lab Director, Lab Manager and/or Admin Lead
