Social Media Intern

Cobot

Date: 14 hours ago
City: Santa Clara, California
Salary: $19 - $22 per hour
Contract type: Full time
Are you excited about shaping the voice of a cutting-edge robotics company? Do you thrive at the intersection of storytelling, social media, and brand strategy? At Cobot, we’re looking for a Social Media Intern to help us grow and elevate our company and executive social presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with our Head of Communications and cross-functional teams to drive visibility, engagement, and brand affinity through strategic content development. You’ll gain hands-on experience in building editorial calendars, analyzing performance data, experimenting with formats, and shaping executive thought leadership. If you’re organized, creative, and eager to learn how social can be a business growth engine, we’d love to meet you.

This is a 6-month internship (part-time or full-time), based onsite at our Seattle, WA or Santa Clara, CA offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Social Presence: Conduct a social media review and audit. Identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities on each platform.
  • Content Calendar Development: Maintain organized, forward-looking content calendars for each platform, ensuring a consistent flow of compelling and varied forms of content aligned with key industry topics, upcoming events, product news, and industry trends, all aligned to core pillars. Bring creative ideas to build out compelling content our audience will want to read and watch.
  • Collaborative Content Creation: Work with cross-functional teams to shape weekly content. This includes brainstorming post ideas, drafting copy or briefs for posts, coordinating with designers on visuals, and ensuring insights and brand voice are authentically represented.
  • Audience Growth Strategies: Identify growth and engagement tactics suited to our professional and technical audience. For instance, audience targeting and newsletter development.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Monitor and analyze social media metrics (follower growth, impressions, engagement rates, etc.) and prepare periodic reports to assess what’s working. Use data-driven insights to adjust the content strategy and inform future posts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1–2 prior internships (or equivalent experience) in social media, marketing, or PR—this can include agency, in-house, internal comms teams, or university clubs. Show us how you’ve helped grow a social presence or made content that resonated!
  • Experience planning and executing LinkedIn strategies, with working knowledge of Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
  • Experience contributing to content calendars and coordinating editorial timelines.
  • Excellent writing skills, especially for short-form, high-engagement social copy. Ability to reflect an executive’s voice is a plus. (Note: You will collaborate with producers and design leads for graphics/video, so you don’t need to produce all visuals yourself, but you should be able to guide and coordinate on content.)
  • A strategic thinker that stays up to date on social media trends, emerging content formats, and tech industry news—and knows how to incorporate what’s relevant (from general culture to the robotics niche) into engaging content.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and creative environment.
  • Available for the full 6-month duration, part-time or full-time, onsite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media planning and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Notion, Airtable, etc.). Familiarity with LinkedIn native tools and tracking.
  • Academic background or hands-on project experience in communications, journalism, digital media, or marketing.
  • Knowledge of or enthusiasm for robotics, AI, or technical domains—especially if you’ve crafted content for a technical or professional audience.
