Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our healthcare organization, with a specific focus on billing, collections, and cash posting. This role is essential to ensuring accurate revenue recognition, timely cash application, and overall financial integrity within the revenue cycle. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Knowledge of healthcare billing practices is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post daily cash receipts from third-party sources to the appropriate accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjusting entries
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts to reduce aged balances
  • Maintain and reconcile revenue and A/R-related general ledger accounts
  • Assist with the monthly close process, including revenue and cash reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP
  • Support accounts payable
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting is preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of healthcare billing and collections processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles (GAAP) and revenue cycle functions
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and reconcile financial data
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
