Position Summary
The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting in the creation, implementation, and management of internal and external communications content. Along with the Internal Communications Manager, this individual will ensure all communications align with and reflect the organization’s strategic vision and brand.
This position will be located at our Corporate Office in Appleton, WI.

Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing enterprise-wide internal and external communication materials and strategies alongside Internal Communications Manager.
- Create engaging and informative content for U.S. Venture website, ensuring that it aligns with our brand voice and meets the needs of our audiences. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify stories that can amplify our culture and values.
- Serve as a key communicator on behalf of our internal resource groups, developing content that supports our internal community and fosters a positive work environment.
- Manage relationships with our people resources team to identify and develop individual communication strategies tied to their department goals.
- Create, ghostwrite, edit, and publish content across all internal channels (Workvivo, presentations, digital signage, SharePoint, talking points, Teams messages, emails, newsletters, infographics, podcasts, social media, and videos).
- Support the maintenance of our editorial calendar.
- Assist in the planning and execution of company events, including creating promotional materials, coordinating logistics, and ensuring clear communication before, during, and after events.
- Identify innovative ways to improve internal communication based on audience participation and feedback and be comfortable proposing new ideas.
- Maintain current understanding and proper application of corporate brand standards.
- Support marketing specialist role as needed with external communication resourcing.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or related field required.
- 3-5 years of experience writing and editing for internal and external audiences in a corporate setting including blogs, web copy, announcements, videos, reports, newsletters, etc.
- Experience writing for and managing corporate social media channels is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills are a must.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize high-visibility projects and juggle multiple requests with ease. Strong attention to detail and organization is essential.
- Ability to work well with team members across different functions and geographies as well as effectively work independently.
- Expertise with: Microsoft Suite, AI, and Canva
- Understanding of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams is highly preferred.
