The role

The University of Bristol is excited to be appointing a Strength & Conditioning Coach to continue to develop our student-athletes and clubs.

Working under the guidance of the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach, the role will assist the delivery of our Strength and Conditioning programme to our #WeAreBristol Performance Clubs.

The role will work with 2-3 clubs, with the main responsibility to deliver and coach the S&C provision to Men’s Rugby, with the aim of achieving strategic targets inline with our partnership with Bristol Bears Rugby.

Working collaboratively with the Performance team, coaching community and support staff, this role will contribute to the wider target of the division; helping all athletes achieve their potential. The role will coach and deliver long term athlete development to help achieve individual, club and divisional targets, including BUCS Top 10, where the University has been ranked for the last 8 years running.

What will you be doing?

The role will coach, plan and deliver the S&C support to our Performance Sports at the University of Bristol, in accordance with our S&C philosophy and aims, under the direction of the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach.

The role will be responsible for 2-3 clubs, which will include Men’s Rugby as mentioned.

The role will work with the Head Coaches and Lead S&C coach to maximise the impact of S&C support, both at an individual player level and whole team level.

The role will be responsible for fostering a people focused, aspirational training environment for all athletes to succeed in, with the view of achieving key strategic aims.

The role will be responsible for management and reporting of training data to analyse impact of the program, identify areas to improve, athlete education and provide feedback.

Please note, during Time-Time (Aug to early Dec and Jan to May): the hours of the role will include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday Evenings and Saturday mornings.

Outside of Term, the role’s hours will be inline with normal working hours.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience and significant performance impact within long term athlete development environments and the ability collaborate, take initiative, problem solve and find solutions to improve performance.

Applicants will need to be UKSCA accredited or have the ability to achieve this within 6 months.

Salary: £27,644 - £31,637 per annum

School/Unit: Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health

Shift pattern: Term Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Evening and Saturday Morning. There is some flexibility with work pattern on Thursday.
