Duties And Responsibilities
- Works with the Supervisory Committee on coordinating the internal audits conducted by outside entities and ensures compliance with findings; as applicable.
- Direct line of communication with the Supervisory Committee; as needed.
- Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operations of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
- Manages enterprise risk management and applicable reporting.
- Collaborates with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
- Manage compliance with all aspects of BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and other federal and state banking laws.
- Review and prepare risk assessments for new banking products to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Consults with general counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.
- Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
- Perform suspicious activity investigations and anti-money laundering enhanced due diligence; prepare and file written SAR reports with FINCEN when necessary.
- Ensure that all issues relating to BSA compliance are identified and resolved.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports associated with monitoring of BSA.
- Oversee CTR process and filings.
- Analyze OFAC reports.
- Conduct FINCEN 314(a) searches.
- Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues and concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
- Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain well-informed of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.
- Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develops and implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Provides reports on a regular basis and, as directed or requested, keep senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
- Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required.
- Works with the human resource department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees and ongoing training for all employees and managers.
- Monitors the performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field preferred.
- Four to six years related experience.
