The Manager, Marketing Operations is a critical driver of operational success within the marketing team, overseeing the systems, processes, and project execution needed to deliver high-impact marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of marketing projects and requests—from intake and prioritization through delivery—ensuring that work is completed efficiently, on time, and aligned with business goals. The Manager, Marketing Operations supervises subordinate staff in the execution of this role.
Serving as both a strategic partner and an executional lead, the Manager, Marketing Operations blends project management expertise with operational insight to streamline workflows, allocate resources, manage tools, and report on marketing team performance. This individual will play a key role in connecting the dots across marketing, sales, finance, and external partners to ensure smooth execution, effective communication, and continuous improvement across all marketing activities.

Marketing Project & Program Management
- Lead, plan, and manage marketing projects and integrated campaigns from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with marketing managers to align project goals with strategic priorities and execution plans.
- Manage project milestones, timelines, and budgets to ensure timely, on-target delivery.
- Utilize project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Smartsheet) to track progress, flag issues, and optimize resource allocation.
- Oversee the coordination of internal and external resources, including vendors and agencies.
- Own and evolve marketing workflows, SOPs, and cross-functional processes to drive efficiency and clarity.
- Maintain marketing process documentation and continuously improve usage of tools like Wrike for planning and execution.
- Identify bottlenecks or gaps in execution and implement scalable solutions for long-term improvement.
- Foster adoption of processes and tools across the marketing team through training and change management.
- Manage the marketing tech stack (e.g., SalesForce Account Engagement) and ensure proper integration and utilization.
- Support marketing performance measurement and reporting, including campaign effectiveness, team productivity, and ROI tracking.
- Hire, train, and supervise the daily work of assigned staff, ensuring a high performing team.
- Act as a key liaison between marketing team members and other departments (sales, product, IT, finance) to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Support marketing leadership set quarterly and annual goals, track performance, and prioritize resources accordingly.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
- Keep up to date with industry specific trends and market intelligence.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Operations, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in marketing operations, project management, or marketing program execution.
- Strong experience working in B2B or B2G environments.
- Experience managing marketing systems and tools such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, Wrike (or similar PM tool), and CRM platforms.
- Leadership and supervisory work experience.
- Strong project management skills, including multitasking, time management, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to lead and motivate a high performing team.
- PMP or related project management certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to translate complex data and workflows into digestible information.
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Analytical mindset with a solid understanding of data interpretation and marketing performance metrics.
- Adept at managing vendor relationships, cross-functional communications, and third-party coordination.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal direction in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
