Pay Details
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $125,000 to $170,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Director, District Event Production leads the strategic planning, development, and execution of a diverse range of events and programming activations that contribute to making OCVIBE a dynamic hub of creativity, hospitality, and discovery.
This role oversees the District Programming Event Production team, responsible for curating a comprehensive calendar of district-wide events aligned with OCVIBE’s brand, business objectives, and revenue goals. Events include internal marketing initiatives, community engagement programs to drive attendance and positive sentiment, and philanthropic efforts in partnership with local nonprofits.
In close collaboration with the District Event Activation team, this position ensures the delivery of exceptional experiences that activate assets across the campus, increase guest visitation, and support growth in both revenue and brand engagement.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in event production, creative programming, and team leadership within the entertainment or hospitality sectors.

Responsibilities
Event Strategy
- Manages a district-wide calendar strategy for programing and events, which governs venues, plazas, public spaces like parks and paseos, and event specific assets, like the roof-top event center
- Ideates needs for added event opportunities in alignment with seasonal holidays, stakeholder needs and key calendar opportunities to identify spaces and opportunities for programing and activation which drive the public’s engagement with the OCVIBE District
- Drives strategic vision and direction for the programming events team, aligning event strategies with overall business goals
- In conjunction with their internal Creative, Brand and Marketing partners, fosters a culture of innovation and excellence, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance event experiences and outcomes
- Stay informed about industry trends and introduce innovative ideas to maintain industry leadership in Events and Programming
- Develop and implement business intelligence strategies to analyze event performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, clients, and industry partners, to ensure alignment and support for event initiatives
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to achieve project goals and drive successful event outcomes
- Assist in managing the P&L and forecasting events in collaboration with Finance and Operations
- Champions best practices and standard operating procedures which govern the activation of event spaces and venues to ensure consistency of execution, quality of outcomes, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team to foster a culture of hospitality and guest service
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in event management or programming, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within entertainment, hospitality, or related industry
- Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale events and programming, with a strong understanding of creative, operational, financial, and logistical aspects
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage a diverse team
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a deep appreciation for our company’s aspirations and company values
